Light in the Darkness: The Triumph of Holy Saturday over the Realm of the Dead : (2 of 2)

In the previous post, we spoke very briefly about how Holy Saturday remembers the effects of the Lord's death on those that followed him - namely, confusion, shock, and depression - coupled with the uncertainty and doubt surrounding that Jesus would rise from the dead. Someone rising from the dead in a very really sense is quite a challenge to wrap our heads around (and we will talk more about this on Easter). But in this post, we ask the question: what was Jesus doing on Holy Saturday? His corpse of course laid in the tomb, motionless, but tradition holds that the Lord's soul descended into the Realm of the Dead, the Realm of the Shadows.  If I may suggest, although the Realm of the Shadows is dark, it wasn't dark for the Lord who was the Light of the World.
